The Milton Police Department conducted its second drug search in a week at the Milton High School Friday.
According to a statement, officers used drug dogs to search the parking lots at the high school on 114 W. High St. Friday, May 31, and Friday, May 24. Drugs were not found during either search.
Police Chief Daniel Layber said the two closely-scheduled drug searches were executed randomly and were not in response to suspicion that drugs or paraphernalia were present at the high school.
“We just like to switch it up,” Layber said of the searches. “In the past, it was once or twice a year, so you just try to keep them guessing.”
