Police in a Milwaukee suburb are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and woman.
New Berlin police say they got a call from a man about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday who asked for help. The call ended and a dispatcher was unable to reach him again.
Authorities say officers arrived, smelled burnt gun powder and found a 76-year-old man and 71-year-old woman in a bedroom with gunshot wounds. The man was dead, but the woman was alive and taken to a hospital where she died a short time later.
Police say they don't believe the public is in any danger.
