A Waterford man told police he only intended to play a joke on his neighbor.
But, Jason Willis was charged criminally after he pretended to be his neighbor and posted fraudulent ads on Craigslist soliciting sex. The neighbor called the Racine County sheriff's deputies after a man showed up at her door wearing only a coat and said he was responding to her ad.
Racine County Judge Allan "Pat" Torhorst sentenced the 31-year-old Willis to 2½ years of probation and banned him from the Internet. He gave Willis 30 days to cancel his Internet service. If Willis violates terms of his probation he will go to prison for 18 months.
The Racine Journal Times reported Willis earlier pleaded guilty to misappropriating ID information to harm a person's reputation.
