Man ‘popping wheelie’ arrested on 3rd offense OWI charges, officials say
Police: Motorcyclist failed field sobriety tests
A Windsor man was arrested on third-offense operating while intoxicated charges Saturday night around 11:30 following a traffic stop, according to a release.
A Dane County Sheriff’s deputy observed a motorcyclist on Lake Road at State Highway 19 operating recklessly by popping a wheelie, according to the release.
The deputy initiated a traffic stop on the 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle, according to the release.
Officials said Cody W. Val Alstine, 35, from Windsor, failed standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested on suspicious of OWI third offense.
Van Alstine consented to blood testing and the results are pending, according to the release.
Van Alstine was taken to the Dane County Jail on OWI third-offense charges on a 12-hour hold, according to the release. Van Alstine was also cited for reckless driving.
