Man arrested in Madison in connection with Illinois murder, police say

TOWN OF MADISON, Wis. -

A 30-year-old man was arrested early Monday on Madison's south side in connection with a murder in Illinois, police said.

The Town of Madison Police Department said Alec B. Foy was taken into custody at an apartment on the 2500 block of West Badger Road at about 2:38 a.m.

Police said Foy was wanted by the Dixmoor Police Department in Illinois on a murder charge stemming from a Dec. 23 death. According to the Town of Madison police, Foy had left the scene of a homicide driving a stolen black SUV with Illinois plates.

Officers found the stolen vehicle parked on West Badger Road and said they learned Foy was staying in an apartment nearby. Police from Fitchburg and city of Madison departments surrounded the building and took Foy into custody, police said.
