A man was arrested after police noticed a large, hostile group gathering on Madison’s north side after Rhythm and Booms Wednesday, according to a release.
Around 11 p.m. officers noticed a hostile group near the 1800 block of Northport Drive, according to the release.
Officers said the group consisted of 30 or more onlookers and two males that were actively fighting.
Officers moved in to stop the fight but the group began to circle the officers and yell expletives, according to the release.
Jayton Jarvel Richmand, 21, stopped fighting to start chasing the presumed victim even though police were at the scene and threatened to use pepper spray, according to the release.
Police said they met resistance from Richmond and the crowd while trying to arrest him but Richmond was eventually arrested on charges of disorderly conduct.
Madison Police Officers were positioned in and around Warner Park Wednesday night for Rhythm and Booms based on past information of problem areas, according to the release.
