MADISON, Wis. -

The Madison Freshmobile will be temporarily closed due to a series of equipment problems, according to a release.

The Freshmobile is a mobile grocery store that brings fresh produce to low-income areas in Madison six days a week, according to the release, which added that it offers healthy food to residents who don’t have easy access to a grocery store.

According to Jeff Maurer, owner of Freshmobile and Fresh Madison Market, it takes a lot to keep the fresh food items refrigerated on the truck.

“The hot weather we had recently was just too much for the equipment to handle, and unfortunately that means we won’t be able to serve our customers for the time being,” Maurer said in the release.
