Unoccupied vehicle crashes into business on west side, officials say

MADISON, Wis. - No one was injured when a vehicle crashed into a business on Madison's west side Tuesday afternoon, according to a release.

Emergency crews were sent around 2:30 p.m. to Blue Lotus Tattoo and Piercing Lounge in the 6700 block of Odana Road after a vehicle crashed into the front of the building, officials said.

A truck drove into the building and broke out the glass entry door and the glass windows on either side of the door, according to the release. There was also damage to the wall framing below the windows, but the building did not lose any structural integrity.

The owner of the truck told crews he accidentally activated the truck's remote start, and the unoccupied manual-transmission vehicle moved forward on its own, officials said.

No one was injured in the crash, according to the release.
