Police: Woman kicked attacker in attempted sexual assault

Attack happened early Sunday morning near UW campus

MADISON, Wis. - A college-age woman reported an attempted sexual assault early Sunday morning near Langdon and Frances streets, according to a release.

The woman was walking on Langdon Street around 2:55 a.m. when she noticed a man was following her, officials said. She asked the man why he was following her and he pushed her to the ground.

The attacker grabbed the woman's head and forced it to the ground, according to the release.

Officials said the woman kicked the attacker and he ran away.

The attacker is described as a white male in his late 20s, 6 feet 3 inches tall with a thin build and blonde buzz-cut hair. He was wearing a long white T-shirt and blue jeans.
