JANESVILLE, Wis. - The Janesville Police Department searched from the air for a missing man Saturday morning.
Police said 23-year-old Jordan White has been missing since Nov. 8, when his family said he left on his bike. That was the last time they've seen or heard from him.
Police Chief David Moore said White's bike was found, but there's been no sign of the rider.
"His bike was found at Monterey Park, so there was some speculation that he could have ended up in the river one way or another," Moore said.
The police chief and his son Brandon spent Saturday morning in their plane searching above the Rock River.
"We wanted to check the river pretty much from Janesville all the way down to Beloit," Moore said. "The visibility was good without the leaves on the trees."
After about an hour of searching, the pair turned back without finding anything.
"I'm certain that if this gentleman was in the river, we would have seen him today," Moore said.
There have been other efforts to scour the river for White.
"We've had boats out, and there's been a cadaver dog," Moore said. "We're not certain that he's in the river, but this is one of the areas that we're following up on."
The police department continues to get tips from the community.
"When it's this public of an event, we get a lot of clues, and we follow up on all of them," Moore said.
Even though Saturday's trip wasn't successful, Moore said he might try to take the plane up again.
"We'll see what the weather brings," he said. "If we get another nice day and this continues, we may head back up and look."
Police said White is about 6 feet tall and weighs 195 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. Police asked anyone with information to call the department at 608-755-3100 or Crime Stoppers at 608-756-3636.
White's friends and family are offering up to a $5,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to his return.
