Police release surveillance pictures of armed robber

Man robbed north side gas station Sunday night, police say

MADISON, Wis. - A north side gas station clerk was held up at gunpoint Sunday night around 8 p.m., according to a report from Madison police.

According to the report, the 46-year-old store clerk was robbed by a 35- to 40-year-old black man who was believed to be just under 6 feet tall. He was wearing a black jacket, red shirt, jeans and a dark hat.

The man fled the gas station at 1101 N. Sherman Ave. with money, cigars, cigarettes and the clerk's personal cellphone.
