Pedestrian struck by van, hospitalized

MADISON, Wis. - A 26-year-old Madison woman was injured and hospitalized after being struck by a van while crossing the street Wednesday night.

Madison police said the incident at South Fish Hatchery Road and Carver Street was reported at 10:46 p.m. The investigation found that the woman was crossing the street in the crosswalk when she was struck by a van traveling north. The woman was almost across the street when she was struck.

The woman was taken to a Madison hospital and is in stable condition.

The driver of the van, a 41-year-old Mazomanie man, was cited on suspicion of failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
