Fire guts 2 buildings in downtown East Troy

Other fire departments called to help

EAST TROY, Wis. - The investigation begins into what caused a fire that caused heavy damage to two buildings on East Troy's downtown square.

The fire broke out early Friday and was extinguished by about 6 a.m. WISN-TV reported one building had two businesses on the main floor with four apartments above. The other building next door housed a barber shop with an apartment on the second floor.

Firefighters from Eagle and Elkhorn helped East Troy battle the blaze.
