JANESVILLE, Wis. - Two men arrested in a Rock County armed robbery case involving Craigslist Tuesday might also be connected to a similar case in Madison, according to the Rock County Sheriff's Office.
Brandon M. Bunch, 23, and Brandon S. Turnure, 20, both of Loves Park, Ill. were arrested on suspicion of armed robbery after a father and son were robbed in a driveway Tuesday.
The father and son were attempting to sell a laptop computer through Craigslist when the robbers who had posed as buyers arrived in the 5800 block of North Glenmoor Lane in Janesville Township at 10:31 p.m., according to the Sheriff's Office.
The victim told dispatchers two men pointed handguns at him and his son and fled the area in a Cadillac after stealing a smart phone and a laptop computer.
The man told deputies he followed the robbers to a parking lot behind the Janesville Athletic Club on Blackbridge Road where a gold Cadillac had struck the building and became stuck in a snow bank. The man then went to a bar, borrowed a cellphone and told dispatchers where the suspects' car was and that the license plate had been removed.
Janesville police and a K-9 assisted deputies in chasing the men and taking them into custody.
Deputies said they found two handguns, a cellphone and a laptop computer during a search of the car.
Bunch and Turnure are believed to be connected to a similar robbery in Madison on Friday in which two men pointed guns at a victim and stole the laptop computer he was trying to sell through Craigslist, according to deputies.
