MADISON, Wis. - Officials ask drivers to be cautious through work zones during Beltline construction work and lanes closures scheduled for this week, according to a release.
Seminole Highway interchange and bridge construction
The eastbound on ramp to the Beltline from Seminole Highway will be closed until mid-August, according to the release. Officials encourage motorists to use alternate routes.
The westbound frontage road between Todd Drive and Seminole Highway is also closed, according to the release. A detour is provided.
The eastbound frontage road is open to traffic with a reduced shoulder, according to the release. Eastbound traffic will be routed along the left side of the frontage road on the newly constructed pavement.
Officials encourage bicyclists to use the new multi-use path along the south side of the roadway.
Eastbound Beltline closures
Both shoulders will be closed in the Seminole Highway bridge work zone, according to the release.
Nighttime lane closures on the eastbound Beltline from Whitney Way to Verona Road/Midvale Boulevard are scheduled from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Monday and will continue through Thursday, according to the release.
Westbound Beltline projects
The outside shoulder will be closed in the Seminole Highway bridge work zone and the westbound Beltline on ramp from Verona Road/Midvale Boulevard until mid-September, according to the release.
Nighttime lane closures on the westbound Beltline from Verona Road/Midvale Boulevard to Whitney Way are scheduled from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Monday and will continue through Thursday, according to the release.
Nighttime lane closures for the same area are also scheduled from 8 p.m. to 10 a.m. starting Friday and will continue through Aug. 11, according to the release.
Verona Road construction
The right lane of southbound Verona road between the Beltline and Raymond Road will be closed through late August, according to the release. Two lanes will remain open during the project but traffic delays are still expected during peak travel times.
Work along Verona Road near the Atticus Way/Summit Road intersection will also continue through late August, according to the release. The work will occur off the roadway with minimal traffic impact.
A project is scheduled to begin this week for bridge construction along the Military Ridge Path just east of the Verona Road and Highway PD intersection, according to the release.
The trail will be closed on the north and south sides of Highway PD through May 2014, according to the release. Military Ridge State Trail along Verona Road will remain open.
Warwick Way and Whenona Drive projects
Warwick Way and Whenona Drive on the north side of the Beltline will be closed to through traffic until Friday, according to the release. Access on Warwick Way and Whenona Drive is only open to residents.
All lane restrictions and work operations are dependent on weather and subject to change, according to the release.
