MADISON, Wis. -

Light snow may slow down the morning commute again,, but street crews do have a few more tools to address the snow Wednesday.

Thirty-two salt and sanding crews were sent out on major thoroughfares in Madison around 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Unlike Tuesday, streets officials said they are applying salt on main roads, since temperatures are still warm enough for salt to be effective.

Officials said they will continue to salt and plow major routes until they are no longer slippery and the snow has been plowed off them.

Officials said they will be sanding hills, intersections and curves on residential streets. However, there are no plans to plow residential streets, since the snow overnight won't come close to reaching 3 inches in depth.

Officials warn the snow may cause problems during the morning commute, and are advising commuters to plan to take extra time to get to work Wednesday.
