CHICAGO, Wis. -

The U.S. Department of Labor's Job Corps program is accepting students at 125 locations in Milwaukee and Laona, Wis.

 According to a release from the Department of Labor., the programs provide high school diploma or equivalent credentials, along with skills training for more than 100 occupations.

The programs are open to individuals ages 16 to 24 and are free of charge. The programs will also help participants find and keep jobs, according to the release.

According to the release, the program also provides eligible students with room and board, counseling and mentoring services, living allowances and basic medical care.

The program started July 1. Job Corps centers in Milwuakee and Laona are currently accepting applications.
