JANESVILLE, Wis. -

Police said an allegedly intoxicated man was charged with a fifth drunken-driving offense after officers saw him driving on an area bike trail and railroad tracks.

On Saturday morning, the Janesville Police Department said officers were sent to check the welfare of 50-year-old David Stalsberg, but he left the area of North Washington and Parkside Drive in his truck before police arrived.

Officers spotted the tan Ford truck driving south on the Ice Age Trail and said he then drove onto railroad tracks past North Franklin Street, police said.

Stalsberg was arrested on suspicion of a fifth-offense operating while intoxicated charge, according to the report.

Stalsberg was taken to Rock County Jail.
