Janesville K-9 wins drug-sniffing competition

80 teams participated

JANESVILLE, Wis. - Janesville police K-9 handler Drew Severson and his dog, Fred, won the 2016 Wisconsin Law Enforcement Canine Handler Association narcotics challenge.

Last week's competition, held during the association's training conference in Rothschild, included 80 K-9 teams from around the state. Dogs were required to find drugs hidden in various rooms.

Officer Severson and Fred have been partners since November of 2015.
