MADISON, Wis. -

The man who robbed a west Madison bank Friday morning was wearing a police jacket, according to a report.

Madison police said a bank robber at 10:50 a.m. held up the BMO Harris Bank at 5567 Odana Road.

According to the report, the robber had an object, which police said hadn't been identified Friday, in his hand and demanded money from a teller.

The man got cash and ran away on foot, police said. Two surveillance photos released by police Friday showed the jacket, which had "SHERIFF'S POLICE" on the back of it and what appeared to be a star-shaped badge on the front.

Investigators and a K-9 team were searching the area for the suspect Friday afternoon.

Police asked anyone who sees the suspect to call 911.
