Three people sustained injuries after a multiple-vehicle crash Monday morning on Interstate 90, officials said.
The crash happened around 10:50 a.m. on Interstate 90 eastbound near Edgerton at mile marker 163, according to a release.
A Volkswagen Passat merged on to Interstate 39 southbound from South Highway 59, officials said. The driver looked back to check traffic traveling south and when he looked forward in the direction he was traveling, a semi was slowing down in the right lane due to a traffic slow down in front of him.
The VW driver saw the semi slowing down so he swerved left into the left lane to avoid rear ending the semi, according to the release. The VW collided with the semi’s trailer on the left side bumper, which caused the VW to spin, go into the left lane, and spin out of control in front of a red Dodge Neon.
The driver of the Neon tried to avoid hitting the VW, but collided into it causing the VW to roll over and block the left lane.
The driver of the VW, ALexander Lee Deluguerico, 17, of Edgerton, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital.
Kalinn M. Harrison, 41, of Edgerton, was the passenger. She also sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital.
The driver of the Neon was Rochelle M. Stiles, 22, of Chippewa Falls sustained non-life threatening injuries, but was not taken to an area hospital.
The driver of the semi was Roger A. Vaade of Janesville. He was not hurt.
