Another hearing has been set for an Iraq War veteran charged with killing his wife while she was on duty as a suburban Milwaukee police officer. A judge is expected to issue a ruling in two weeks on whether statements the defendant made to police should be thrown out.
Prosecutors said Benjamin Sebena acknowledged ambushing Jennifer Sebena while she was patrolling alone in Wauwatosa on Christmas Eve.
A judge heard arguments on whether the statements should be admissible Friday but won't issue a decision until a June 21 hearing.
Sebena has pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect to the charge of first-degree intentional homicide. A state-appointed psychiatrist says there's no basis for the plea. A psychiatric report from the defense is expected to be reviewed at the June 21 hearing.
His trial is set to start July 8.
