MADISON, Wis. -

The head of Madison’s Parks Division is stepping down after nearly six years as the superintendent.

Kevin Briski said he is leaving the city to accept a job as Parks and Recreation director in Melbourne, Fla.

“Kevin Briski has done an incredible job for the past six years as Madison Parks superintendent,” Madison Mayor Paul Soglin said in a release. “He has guided a staff of over 150 through some challenging times, and created a legacy at the city that will benefit residents and visitors for years to come.”

In the meantime, the city’s assistant superintendent will serve as acting supervisor.
