On the far west side of Madison, dozens of people took a stand against gun violence this weekend.
Residents of the Theresa Terrace and Hammersley neighborhoods went on a "March Against Violence" Saturday afternoon.
Members say there have been a number of violent incidents recently, including a shooting during which a woman was shot while holding her baby.
Jamecia Fuller survived, but loved ones say she has a long road of recovery ahead.
"She was a very hardworking woman, she was a good mother, a good goddaughter, good child," said Sheray Wallace, neighborhood resident and march participant. "Now, now she has to start her life all over again."
Alder Matthew Phair also joined the march.
He said he's working on improving the trust between residents and the Madison Police Department to curb future violence.
