The State Capitol building was briefly evacuated Wednesday morning after smoke was seen in a senator's office.
Staff members from Republican Sen. Dale Schultz's office told News 3 the haze in the Schultz's office was "overwhelming."
The entire building was evacuated at about 10:45 a.m. and fire crews were at the scene.
A firefighter at the scene told News 3 a ballast in a light caused the smoke. The official said the all clear was given at around 11 a.m. for people to return to the building.
The Department of Administration said an electrician is working with staff to repair several light fixtures on the same circuit.
