TOWN OF CENTER, Wis. -

A crash in the town of Center outside Evansville Monday has led to a 32-year-old man to face his 6th charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, according to the Rock county Sheriff's Department.

Rock County Sheriff's deputies found a pickup truck in a ditch in the 5500 block of N. Weary Road in Center Township just before 4 p.m. Monday.

A passerby called to report the driver of the truck may have been drunk.

When deputies arrived, they found Curt Baumer of rural Evansville inside. Baumer told sheriff's deputies he was going north on Weary Road when he lost control of his truck on the road, which was snow covered and slippery at the time.

Sheriff's officials said Baumer admitted to deputies he'd consumed alcohol prior to the crash and failed field sobriety testing.

Baumer was first taken to Mercy Hospital for precautionary reasons, and agreed to a chemical test of his blood, before being taken to the Rock County Jail.
