Daily total: 141
WISC-TV3, Klinke Cleaners, the Community Action Coalition and Magic 98 (98.1 FM) are proud to team up, once again, for the 31st annual Koats for Kids campaign!
From now through October 8th, we invite you to drop off your gently-worn winter coats, caps and mittens at any area Klinke Cleaners. Donations will be cleaned for free, then donated to the Community Action Coalition for distribution to area individuals in need.
Get daily coat totals and other campaign tidbits from Gary Cannalte and the News 3 Meteorologists on News 3 This Morning and News 3 at Six, from Pat O'Neill and Bob Bonner on MAGIC 98 (98.1 FM), and right here on Channel3000.com!
Want to get involved? Then take part in our Koats for Kids "Collect-a-Coat Contest"!
Organization of a collection drive is totally up to your school. Some schools compete between classes, some compete between grades, and some don't compete at all! Just get your donations in to Klinke Cleaners by October 8th, along with an official Koats for Kids collection form, which can be downloaded by logging onto the Koats for Kids website. If your school collects the most coats, or the most coats per capita, you'll win a spiffy award and a visit from the Koats for Kids on-air team!
DONATE IN OTHER WAYS
If you'd like to take part in Koats for Kids but don't have a coat to donate, please consider these additional opportunities:
The Community Action Coalition welcomes volunteers to help sort and organize coats as they come in, and to assist with distribution, which starts October 4th. If you can spare an hour (or more!), contact Carissa Cornwell, C.A.C. Coordinator of Volunteer Services, by phone at 608-246-4730 ext. 229, or via e-mail email@example.com.
The Community Action Coalition would also be grateful for monetary donations to help offset distribution costs. If you'd like to contribute in this way, please follow the link to the CAC's donation page.
