Madison Metropolitan School District superintendent Jennifer Cheatham is getting high marks in a performance evaluation from the school board.
Cheatham exceeded or met expectations in each of six performance categories, according to a release from the district.
“We thank Jen for her strong leadership of the district, which has been focused on gap-narrowing progress and has created positive momentum,” board president James Howard said. “Jen is a strong leader, and we continue to feel positive about her ability to bring long-term systemic change through support for our students and staff.”
Cheatham was evaluated on key competencies that include board and superintendent relations, organizational climate and culture, instructional leadership, budget and operations management, talent performance and management and school and community relations.
The evaluation process is modeled after the statewide evaluations used for teachers and principals. The school board also gave informal feedback to Cheatham at each of its quarterly retreats throughout the year.
