MADISON, Wis. -

Police said an Edgerton man told them he was surprised law enforcement found out he downloaded child pornography.

The state Department of Justice said Friday police searched 27-year-old Hermilo Burgos Gomez's home and found videos on a laptop of children performing sex acts.

DOJ said Gomez told special agents in an interview that he had about 10 videos on the laptop and that he's been downloading child pornography for about three years. Authorities said he told the agents he was surprised police found out about the videos.

The report also said Gomez knew possessing child pornography was illegal.

Gomez was arrested on suspicion of five counts of felony possession of child pornography.

Gomez was scheduled for a bond hearing at 3 p.m. Friday in Rock County.
