Officials said a Madison man was charged with four counts of possession of child pornography after investigators found files on his laptop Tuesday.
The state Department of Justice-Division of Criminal Investigation said special agents and Madison police officers searched Jason P. Thomas's home on Madison's east side.
An on-scene forensic preview of Thomas's computer hard drive found numerous files consistent with child pornography, DCI said.
Thomas told DOJ special agents that he downloaded child pornography knowing it was illegal and solicited children online to expose themselves, according to the criminal complaint.
Online records show Thomas's next court appearance is Feb. 11 for a preliminary hearing.
