MADISON, Wis. -

Police said a man attacked a Megabus driver in downtown Madison early Friday morning.

The Madison Police Department said 37-year-old Robert D. Taylor Sr. wanted a ride to Milwaukee at 2:22 a.m. A taxi dropped Taylor off on the 800 block of University Avenue where the Megabus was picking up passengers.

Taylor requested a ticket to Milwaukee, according to the report. But when the driver told him that was not the bus's destination, the man threatened the driver with bodily harm and demanded the bus go to Milwaukee.

The driver told Taylor to disembark and the two wrestled outside the bus, police said. The driver told a passenger to call 911. Taylor also struggled with police.

Passengers told police they were disturbed by Taylor's behavior.

Taylor, of Madison, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting.

He was taken to Dane County Jail.
