MADISON, Wis. -

Intoxicated drivers were involved in simultaneous crashes early Sunday morning, according to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.

Two people were injured in a head-on crash on Highway 19 near Waunakee at 12:31 a.m.

At the same time, there was a report of a rollover crash on County Road P south of Albe Road. Deputies said Anthony M. Kruchten, 27, of Cross Plains, drove left of center, left the road and struck a tree. He was ejected and taken to University of Wisconsin Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Kruchten was arrested on suspicion of third-offense operating while intoxicated and cited on suspicion of operating left of center, failure to maintain control and for not wearing a seat belt..

A total of eight other drivers were arrested for operating while intoxicated between Thanksgiving and Sunday, according to the sheriff’s office.

Ten people were killed in crashes throughout Wisconsin over the holiday weekend.
