MADISON, Wis. -

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is partnering with gas stations and convenience stores across the state to help prevent drunken driving during deer hunting season.

According to a release, DOT is installing nearly 150 attention-getting gas pump toppers at stations warning hunters about drunken driving.

Gas station business generally spikes during deer hunting season. WisDOT director David Pabst said in a release, "Instead of risking a drunken driving arrest and possibly a serious or fatal crash, we urge everyone to designate before they celebrate during deer hunting season and throughout the year."

Hunters are also encouraged to download the Zero In Wisconsin, Drive Sober mobile app that helps choose a designated driver.
