Dane County snowmobile trails will remain closed until there is additional snow and colder temperatures, according to the Dane County Parks web site.

Originally the trails were expected to reopen at 6 a.m. on Sunday, December 29, but now the county says that the warmer temperatures over the weekend destroyed the snow base of most trails.

Parks Director Darren Marsh has said that trail conditions will remain marginal until there is more snow on the ground. He added when trails reopen, riders must stay on the marked trails as deviating from the trails is considered trespassing and violators may be issued citations.
