MARSHFIELD, Wis. -

School leaders said a high school dance team’s performance to the song “Blurred Lines” crossed the line.

The Marshfield High School group performed the routine during a football game in August. The team’s coach got fired a few days later.

School leaders told the now-former coach Lisa Jolin, that they received complaints about the dance and the song, by Robin Thicke.

Jolin said the music was selected by the students, and profanity was edited out.

“I got no specifications on how many phone calls were made, no specifics on what was said, no specifics on exactly what they were unhappy with. Was it the performance? Was it the movement, the song choice?" said Jolin.

Parents disagree with the dance coach’s firing, but district officials said her removal was based on “appropriate reasons and following district protocols.”

Two dancers have also now quit the team.
