Police: Attackers used padlock, belts

MADISON, Wis. - A Madison woman said she was knocked unconscious after she was attacked and beaten by eight other women.

According to a report from Madison police, the 22-year-old victim was attacked around 3 a.m. Tuesday morning on the 1400 block of Theresa Terrace.

According to the report, the woman said she had gotten into a confrontation with the same group earlier in the night in downtown Madison.

The woman told police some of the women used belts and a padlock to beat her until she was unconscious. She received stitches to close a head wound.

According to the report the attackers were not caught and it is not clear what provoked the attack.
