South side convenience store robbed twice within 48 hours

Police: Gun involved in both robberies

MADISON, Wis. - A convenience store on Madison’s south side was robbed for the second time within 48 hours early Saturday morning, according to Madison police.

The second incident happened at the 7-Eleven in the 2700 block of West Beltline Highway early Saturday morning.

In this incident, police said a man walked into the story, pointed a gun at the clerk and got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police said they are looking for a dark-skinned black man around 5 feet 8 inches tall, last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.

The last robbery at this particular 7-Eleven happened around 10:30 p.m. Thursday. At this point, police don’t believe the two robberies are connected.
