Copper among items stolen at vacant home, police say

Milton PD asks help solving Parkview Drive burglary

MILTON, Wis. - Police are seeking information about a copper theft that occurred in the last two weeks in Milton.

City of Milton Police Department said officers responded Saturday at approximately 2 p.m. to the report of a burglary in the 900 block of Parkview Drive. Milton police said the incident took place sometime between Feb. 23 and Saturday when the home was vacant.

Lt. John Conger said suspects took copper tubing from the vacant home and other household items.

Entry was forced through a garage window on the east side of the residence, according to the report.

Individuals that come forward with information that leads to the arrest of those responsible for this crime are eligible for a cash reward through Janesville Area Crimestoppers. Individuals with tips can remain anonymous.

Milton police asked anyone with information about the incident to call 757-2244 or Janesville Area Crimestoppers at 756-3636. Anonymous tips can also be sent via text to CRIMES (274637), then enter JACS, plus the message.

Conger said police are urging the community to be extra vigilant in watching what they know to be vacant homes and call the department to report any suspicious activity.
