ELKHORN, Wis. -

Highway 12/67 north of Elkhorn was closed several hours Wednesday morning after a car struck a power pole and left power lines across the highway.

The Walworth County Sheriff’s Office said the crash near Evergreen Parkway sheared off the pole. No one was injured in the crash.

The road was closed to westbound traffic heading to Whitewater and Madison and eastbound traffic heading toward Elkhorn, Lake Geneva and Illinois. The road reopened to all but semi traffic at 1 p.m.

Homes and businesses nearest the crash were expected to lose electric power during this time.

Semis are advised to use Interstate 43 to exit Highway 20 and take Highway 20 west back to the intersection of Highway 12/20/67 until further notice from the south, and to use Highway 20 east from the Highway 12/20/67 split to Interstate 43 from the north.
