Police said two men were arrested on suspicion of burglarizing a Janesville home Friday night. The residents were also arrested after officers said they found drugs in the home.

The Janesville Police Department said officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress on the 100 block of Linn Street at 6:07 p.m.

Police said a vehicle left before officers arrived but was stopped near South Main and East Racine streets. The occupants, 31-year-old Jason McDonough of Harmony and 21-year-old Kyle Schyvinck of Janesville told police they broke into the Linn Street home to steal money, according to the report.

Officers entered the Linn Street residence to check for injured people and reported they could smell marijuana. Pot was seen in plain view along with drug paraphernalia, the report said. McDonough was charged with burglary, theft and criminal damage to property. Schyvinck was charged with burglary, party to the crime of theft and party to the crime of criminal damage to property.

The residents, 32-year-old Jedidiah Tiffany and 29-year-old Kelicha Johnston, returned to the house while officers were there. The pair was detained while police searched the house. Tiffany was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia and on a felony probation hold. Johnston was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia.
