A convenience store on the Beltline was robbed by an armed man early Friday morning, according to a release from Madison police.

Police said they were called to the 7-Eleven at 2703 W. Beltline Highway at 5:08 a.m. after a man got money from the till and fled. His head was covered with shirts or other garments.

A police dog was brought to the scene to track the robber but no one was found.

The man is described as black, 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a gray T-shirt, white and black athletic shorts and black tennis shoes.
