MADISON, Wis. -

Charter Communications services were down for many Madison-area customers early Friday morning, according to a company official.

Charter Director of Regional Communications Kim Haas told News 3 different areas were affected at different times, and the problem they're dealing with is system wide.

All customers have service as of 9 a.m., but traffic has been rerouted and technicians continue to work through the issue, Haas said.

The outages were reported at 2:30 a.m. By 6:55 a.m., most customers reported service restored.
