Madison, Cambridge vandalism spree results in arrests
Numerous buildings damaged
Four people were arrested after a vandalism spree in Cambridge Wednesday night, according to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
Madison police said three of the men are connected to vandalism on the east side.
Deputies said the four men used spray paint to vandalize a middle school, fire department, streets department, park pavilion and several businesses in Cambridge.
Brian J. McGrail, 21, of Cambridge, Cody M. Vieth, 20, of Madison, Jacob D. Jameson, 20, of Madison and Samuel H. Poirior, 19, of Cambridge, were arrested Thursday afternoon on suspicion of one felony count and 17 misdemeanor counts of criminal damage to property.
The felony charge is related to more than $2,500 in damage done to a recently remodeled church in Cambridge, according to deputies.
Madison police said graffiti was found the same night at the Madison Mallards' baseball stadium, the Warner Park Community Recreation Center, Fire Station 10 on Northport Drive, a home in the 3700 block of Hanover Street and at La Follette High School. Madison police said Veith, Jameson and Poirior are implicated in those cases.
Total damage in Cambridge is estimated at between $5,200 and $5,300, but additional claims could be added. Property damage in Madison is listed in the thousands of dollars, according to police.
