MADISON, Wis. -

A Madison man whose car got stuck in a snowy median on the Beltline was arrested on suspicion of sixth-offense operating while intoxicated, according to Madison police.

A caller reported a car driving erratically on the West Beltline Monday afternoon after 5 p.m. before the car got stuck in the median between Gammon Road and Whitney Way.

Officers said the driver was pushing on the gas and spinning the car’s tires when they arrived. An officer told the driver to stop because the acceleration wasn’t going to get the car out.

Michael B. Peterson, 49, was arrested on suspicion of sixth-offense OWI.
