Argyle man sentenced to 10 years for growing pot
Prosecutors: More than 100 plants found
An Argyle man was sentenced to 10 years in prison Tuesday for growing more than 100 marijuana plants, according the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Prosecutors said Stephen George Nelson, 61, was charged after law enforcement found a marijuana-growing operating in rural Green County.
Nelson pleaded guilty on Feb. 5.
Kelvin W. Johnson, 53, of Monticello, was sentenced in April to four years of supervised release and forfeited $25,000 of the value of his home, where prosecutors said the marijuana was found.
Nelson has three prior felony convictions involving the distribution of marijuana.
