A Wisconsin man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for a series of burglaries in Sioux County in northwest Iowa.
The Sioux County attorney's office says 49-year-old Daniel DeTaege, of Appleton, Wis., was sentenced on Monday after pleading guilty to three counts of third-degree burglary as a habitual offender.
Prosecutors say police arrested DeTaege inside a business in Ireton in July. After he was arrested, police discovered a large amount of cash in his car and a map of Iowa with communities and highways highlighted.
In addition to the prison sentence, a judge ordered DeTaege to pay $8,500 in restitution to his victims.
