Waukesha man enters guilty pleas in court

A Waukesha man was sentenced Tuesday after entering guilty pleas for five misdemeanor offenses.

Adam David Kane, 38, was charged with unlawfully using a computer to make threats, according to Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen. Kane received a 90-day sentence.

The court did not sentence Kane on other charges, including lewd and lascivious acts using a computer system and violation of a harassment injunction. For these charges, Kane was given three years' probation.

According to a May 2012 complaint, Kane, while residing in Washington state, sent several emails to Waukesha County public officials making specific threats. Officials said Kane also copied the emails to a family member who held a restraining order against him.

The Honorable Jacqueline R. Erwin, a Jefferson County Circuit Court judge sitting for the Waukesha County Circuit Court, presided over the sentencing.
