MADISON, Wis. -

Dane County Emergency Management will be conducting a specialized “growl” test of the outdoor warning system Wednesday at noon.

The sirens will sound for 15-25 seconds. Because of the short activation period, the sirens will sound like they are growling rather than their full volume wail.

This test is part of the current upgrade for the outdoor warning siren control system, according to county officials.
