VERONA, Wis. -

The city of Verona has seen a rash of cars broken into in the past week, and police are trying to find out who is behind all the incidents.

Verona Police Chief Bernie Coughlin said three teens were arrested last Thursday after they were observed entering cars on Topp Avenue.

The teens admitted to two thefts, and are being linked to a third theft at Avenue Auto Clinic, according to police.

On Friday, police responded to seven additional thefts and two garage burglaries, all on the northwest side of Verona. One of the thefts included a car being stolen, but it was recovered several blocks away.

According to police, the items targeted included GPS units, iPods and cash, all of which were taken from unlocked vehicles.

Police said they would like to remind residents to lock their cars, even inside their garages, to prevent personal items from being stolen.
