A teenager who was vacationing in the Devil's Lake State Park area last month is accused of vandalizing signs, officials said.
The Sauk County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday that a 16-year-old from Onalaska was referred to juvenile court in connection with spray-painted graffiti on Aug. 10.
Devil’s Lake officials from the DNR reported that the main entrance sign leading to the north shore of the park was painted over with satanic symbols. Spray paint that caused extensive damage was also discovered on numerous road signs in the area and other structures in the park.
The sheriff's office said tips and information about the incident helped detectives in the investigation.
The sheriff's office said it wasn't known Wednesday if others will be charged.
